Exams and results

At City of London Academy Islington we pride ourselves in having high aspirations of all pupils, regardless of their starting point. Our culture of high expectations and pursuit of excellence, combined with outstanding teaching means that our students consistently outperform national averages.

Progress 8

Please note, the government are not able to calculate Progress 8 scores for academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26. This is because there is no KS2 assessment data available to calculate the baseline for Progress 8 for these years due to Covid-19 disruption. This score shows how much progress pupils at this school made across 8 qualifications between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4. The P8 score for City of London Academy Islington in 2024 was 0.13.

A positive progress score indicates students are making more progress than their peers nationally with the same starting point.

Attainment 8

Schools get a score based on how well pupils have performed in up to 8 qualifications, including English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, history, geography, modern foreign languages and 3 other GCSE or Level 2 BTEC qualifications.
