Religious Studies

Withdrawal from Religious Studies

Religious Studies is taught to all students in years 7-10, and is a compulsory GCSE option for Year 10 students. In addition to providing an insight into a number of religions, it also develops students’ critical thinking and evaluation, builds cultural understanding and respect, and supports students’ wider moral and personal development. Parents and carers have the right to withdraw students from Religious Studies; if you wish to do so, please make an appointment with a member of the Senior Leadership Team by emailing info@colai.org.uk. City of London Academy Islington does not support selective withdrawal from certain aspects of Religious Studies.
