Science Week Project

In honour of Science Week, we conducted an exciting experiment on chromatography. Students explored how different colours in pen ink can be separated into their individual components. We also discussed how chromatography is used in real-life contexts, alongside learning about women in STEM and the wide range of careers in the field.

The sessions highlighted how science, maths, English and technology all play an important role in our everyday lives. Year 7 students, along with some Year 8s, approached the experiment with great care and enthusiasm, ensuring successful and impressive results. One student shared, “It was really interesting and surprising to see the different colours spreading across the paper”.
