Please see the attached information about apprenticeships. The information enclosed is incredibly helpful for you and your child if you are thinking about the apprenticeship route having finished GCSE’s or A Level’s.

The BBC Bitesize website has a dedicated section to the world of work with lots of accessible careers information including career profiles, CV and interview advice, industry articles and themed videos.

The website includes interactive tools, films and articles to suit independent study for students aged 14+ including a virtual interview practice and virtual work experience. There is also a section for parents. Some activities require sign in but all are free of charge.

Start is a free, online careers platform, designed to connect 11-18 year olds with their future career potential.

ScreenSkills is the industry-led skills body for the screen industries. They work across the UK to ensure that film, television (including children’s and high-end drama), VFX (visual effects), animation and games have the skills and talent they need.

This website provides lots of helpful insight into careers in the screen industries including downloadable resources and activities.

The Institute of Physics is the professional body and learned society for physics in the UK and Ireland. They inspire people to develop their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of physics.

If you enjoy studying physics but aren’t sure how it could help your job prospects, this webpage shows you a range of different career paths you could take. The site includes case studies with professionals where they share their career path and speak about what their job involves.
